Description
Gerald Lomaventema is a Hopi silversmith that works in the Tufa cast method.
His designs are original Native American that are often more like sculptures than what we've come to expect jewelry to look like.
These are carved in Tufa Sandstone from the Hopi Reservation. After the sandstone mold is carved, molten is then poured.
When the molten silver cools it is pulled from the mold and the mold is destroyed in the process.
One mold one silver casting.
The Mudhead is a Creation figure.
The Bolo Tie is Silver Tufa Cast with natural Turquoise and Spiny Oyster.
It measures 4 3/4" long
Included are custom bolo tie tips that measure 2 7/8" long. A leather string tie is included.
