Gel Bisbee Turquoise Bracelet Albert Lee

New

Gel Bisbee Blue Turquoise Gem set in a heavy Silver Wire Bracelet...  completely handmade by Albert Lee and Sons

This is a fine example of Bisbee Blue Turquoise. It is a very hard stone... it feels like glass. All turquoise must be hard to be gem quality and get that deep color.

Soft or chalky turquoise simply does not transmit color well.

The brilliant, almost liquid color of this gemstone comes from deep inside the stone. That very desirable quality is often referred to as Zat or Gel.

Brilliance is also used to describe this effect... when the stone is translucent and the blue color just seems to glow from deep inside the gem and it appears liquid.

This Bisbee gem measures about 1" by 3/4".
** This is not a flat, skimpy gem but it is a thick, domed gemstone that rises well out of the bezel.

Bisbee Turquoise of this quality is very difficult to find. Prices are not cheap and are rising further as the supply disappears.

The mine has been closed for many years.

The bracelet is slightly adjustable and will fit a 6" - 6 1/4" wrist.
