Wes Willie / Charles Loloma Jewelry

Wes Willie and a few other silversmiths have clearly been influenced by the jewelry designs of
Charles Loloma. Charles Loloma, more then any other figure, has influenced the way we see
Southwest Turquoise jewelry today.

Frankly, were it not for hallmarks It would be very difficult to discern the difference between a
Loloma and a Willie or an Edison Cummings too. As a matter of fact, Georgia Loloma,
Charles Loloma's widow, brought this to my attention years ago.

Rare Charles Loloma Bracelet

Rare Charles Loloma 18k Gold Bracelet

It is no secret that prices paid today for an authentic Charles Loloma are quite substantial.

Charles Loloma is the man most responsible for Southwest jewelry as we now see it. To own
a Loloma is a privilege... a joy few collectors ever know. However, until that special day
comes your way... having a Wes Willie is definitely not a bad way to go.
