Turquoise Watchbands
The Gerald B. Evans Collection of vintage turquoise watchbands
Handmade Native American watch bands were popular in the 1960's and 1970's.
They looked very much like the turquoise bracelets of that era but
accommodations
were made to mount a period watch of the owners choice.

This Tommy Singer Hallmark is stamped on the watchband.

Navajo Rug Design
This watchband is an early Navajo example of silver overlay with chip inlay.
The
chip inlay process brought Tommy Singer and his family much fame in the 1970's.
However, It
was a relatively easy process to copy and as it grew in popularity offshore
Taiwanese copies (forgeries) flooded the market and
eventually wiped Tommy out.
Tommy Singer is making jewelry again but does not make chip Inlay.
Rarely do Tommy Singer chip inlay pieces turn up
