"The Fashion" and its employess... 1899

Connor's Hotel

a Turquoise Sky

Jerome sits atop a labyrinth of tunnels, mines and enormous excavations.

The search was for gold, silver and copper.

The turquoise, azurite, and other beautiful gemstones were a bonus...
a fortuitous discovery. In spite of the extensive mining I have never seen one example
of Jerome turquoise the equal of these specimens.

Yes, the planet was thoroughly scouted and this mountain dramatically explored...
yet I never saw one Mingus Mountain turquoise specimen the equal of the turquoise
you see below. Repeat that excavation a thousand times around the world and we
get some idea how rare magnificent turquoise is.

The vast majority of turquoise mined worldwide is chalk. It is chemically processed
to make it useable. Great turquoise is a gift. You can spend a lifetime searching
for it... and, if you are very, very lucky... it may come to you.
