Ernest Rangel

Navajo Silversmith and
Professional Rodeo Cowboy
who specializes in silver ranger style
 belt buckles and bracelets

When Ernest is not competing on the Rodeo circuit he is busy silversmithing...
making rugged, high quality, silver belt buckles and bracelets

Sometimes his buckles are made using the Tufa cast method,
sometimes they are made by overlay.

Tufa Casting is an ancient process where the design
is carved in Tufa (a form of Sandstone) and
then molten silver is poured into the stone
 to produce the jewelry.

Silver Overlay is the process where designs are cut (or hammered)
from sheets of silver and the silver sheets are soldered
one upon the other.
