Gerald Lomaventema is a young Hopi silversmith / artist.
Gerald his learned his art from old masters like ( Lawrence Saufkie
and Watson Honanie ). Clearly, Gerald Lomaventema
is grounded in traditional Hopi Overlay jewelry.

However, Gerald is moving the art form forward.

Frankly, Hopi overlay jewelry has not changed since Paul Saufkie
 and Fred Kaboutie created it in the late 1930's.

Gerald's jewelry is made using Overlay techniques however he adds
 layers of Tufa cast designs and other techniques including
 silver granulation and inlaid gemstones.

The silver is heavy gauge in which scenes, symbols
and images of Hopi life and legends appear.
