Leonard Haskie Bolotie

The End of the Trail

James Earle Fraser's iconic image of a lone, tired, brave sleeping atop his horse
is probably the most recognized image of the American west ever produced.

Leonard Haskies's treatment of this timeless image evokes feelings of peace... yet there's more.
There is anticipation, a curiosity and restlessness about what lies ahead for our courageous soul.
Is this indeed the end of the trail or will our Brave awake to find greater adventure.

Leonard Haskie chose as the background to the sleeping warrior a sunset sky (angel
skin coral) and deep blue water (turquoise).

The silver work surrounding The Brave has a sacred feeling... like that of a
Cathedral... a Kiva... or maybe clouds reaching across an endless sky.
