Gold Turquoise Jewelry

Beautiful Gold Silver Rare Turquoise and Coral Jewelry.... oh my!!

Southwest Native American Gold Jewelry is a relatively new idea... it first appeared in the late 1970's.
Up until then (from the 1840's forward), all Southwest Indian Jewelry was made from silver...
except for the occasional piece made from cooper.

However, in the 1970's there was an explosion of interest in genuine Native American Southwest
Turquoise jewelry. That period was a time of a stagnant US economy, 18% interest rates, $850/oz gold
and $35/oz silver. The Wall Street Journal touted Southwest Indian jewelry as more then beautiful,
but as a solid investment form. Frankly, time has proven the Wall Street Journal right.

Great silversmiths of the time, whose jewelry originally sold for a few hundred to a few thousand dollars
now commands substantially more. The best pieces simply do not go down in value. The supply is thin and the
demand great... even a slight drop in price is cause for a long term collector to step up and buy.

Silversmiths who work in gold (and there are not many who can afford to) make a considerable investment
with no guarantee of a return on that investment. Consequently, artists will put their best effort into these
pieces and often feature rare and exotic turquoise and other gemstones in that jewelry. These pieces are
what collector's dreams are made of.

Vernon Haskie 22K Gold Turquoise Pendant

Heavy, Solid 22k Gold Butterfly Pendant Inlaid with rare,

Lone Mountain Turquoise of this great quality is considered among the
finest turquoise to ever come out of the Southwest. It is used almost exclusively
by Ray and Lee Yazzie and other silversmiths of this caliber.

Bear in mind that here are large Lone Mountain Turquoise gemstones, not
chips. Large pieces of fine, gem turquoise always cost considerably
more then small.
